  • Unanico created and produced all the animation for the three seasons (85 episodes) of Apple Tree House, a preschool series for the BBC’s channel CBeebies. The show won a Royal Television Society award and was nominated for 4 BAFTAs.

  • Conceived with legendary Queen guitarist Brian May, One Night In Hell is a short film based on May’s collection of Diableries stereoscopic photo cards. The film was nominated for Best Animated Short at the San Francisco International Film Festival and bridges the past and present through rock and roll and dark animation. Working alongside Toei as well as MacKinnon and Saunders (Fantastic Mr. Fox, Corpse Bride), Unanico has also developed a trilogy series based on the Diableries universe.

  • Unanico has partnered with Queen and Brian May for several projects, including the “All Dead, All Dead” music video, the “Panic Attack” lyric video by May and Kerry Ellis, as well as upcoming children’s animation projects.

  • This spinoff series, set within the Diableries universe and featuring interviews with the dead allows each interviewee to share lessons from their time on Earth to help viewers lead better lives.

  • Co-created with Universal Music Group, Melody Makers is a music-based pre-school show using existing songs to teach life lessons. The creative team includes Executive Producer Keith Chapman (Paw Patrol, Bob the Builder) and Musical Director Lang Lang, the internationally famed pianist.

  • This picture book trilogy reimagines three tales originally conceived by Hans Christian Andersen. Adapted by Jason Jameson, the intricate illustrations bring a new magic to The Robin and the Fir Tree, The Butterfly Egg, and The Toad Stone. Unanico is currently developing films based on all three trilogy installments. The Robin and the Fir Tree is published by Templar Books (Bonnier Group) in the U.K. and Candlewick Press in the U.S.

    Wiggle Wood follows a group of friendly caterpillars. The show was co-developed with Aimee Anderson.

  • Unanico’s apps and games bring storytelling to an interactive medium. From the hand-drawn characters in Totter, a minimalistic balancing game full of charm to Totter Mini, the colorful adaption for younger players, our unique imagery excites players with fresh experiences. Other projects, such as Diableries AR, and English Hedgerow showcase the use of augmented reality technology to take players into a brand new world.

  • Unanico’s diverse body of work extends beyond animation into live-action and other cross-cultural projects that highlight the company’s versatility and global reach. Our past multimedia endeavors include collaborating on GlamourLand, an experimental art installation in Berkeley Square, London, led by artists Tony Heywood and Alison Condie; Noh Time Like the Present, a stage production and tribute to veteran Noh performer Akira Matsui (Noh is a traditional form of Japanese theater); Between the Stones, an English language production that toured across Europe; and an exhibition on Noh at the Embassy of Japan in London, titled From Tradition to Modernity. Unanico also sold distribution rights for three seasons of The Koala Brothers, a children’s stop-motion animation series.

  • Most Unanico projects begin with the character designs of Jason Jameson, which serve as a strong artistic foundation for further creative development. Jason works across a variety of illustration styles, and his extensive background with many media forms allows him to deliver original and versatile work. His work on the Seasons Trilogy, a set of picture books reimagining tales by Hans Christian Andersen, showcases Jason’s attention to intricate, hand-drawn detail.

  • Unanico has a proud history of crafting visually compelling and thought-provoking documentaries that illuminate the human experience. In many instances we have partnered with award-winning New York based production company Ikana Media/Sierra Tango Productions. Our work includes No Place on Earth (a compelling WWII story nominated for a WGA Screenplay Award, made in partnership with History/A&E/Channel 5 (UK)/ARTE, and theatrically distributed by Magnolia Pictures); Diableries Brought to Life (focusing on 19th-century French stereoscopic art in 3D); Memory Games (a glimpse into the brain's potential for memorization through four competitive memory athletes); and Unseen Enemy, a feature-length doc about the threat of pandemics.

The award-winning short film It’s Up to Us, adapted from the inspiring picture book with a preface by King Charles III and narrated by Leona Lewis, brings urgent attention to global wildlife conservation and our shared responsibility to protect the planet. The ongoing Seeds of Hope for a Better Future global competition in partnership with UNESCO UK ASPnet empowers young people worldwide to take creative action for a more sustainable future.
